Upper Primary

At ELC, our curriculum is specifically designed to prepare your child for a rapidly changing future, where they will need resilience, critical thinking, and skills for engaging in 21st-century learning.

Within the years 3–6 learning environment students develop their ability to take positive action for well-being; relate and communicate well with others; pose questions and solve problems; make informed decisions and act responsibly. Literacy and numeracy are again prioritised across these years of schooling.

Dedicated and passionate teachers work together to ensure the right balance of explicit instruction and student inquiry in their lessons. Age-appropriate and engaging learning experiences that help your child to reach their potential, are integral to all our programs and Learning Enhancement, including support for students from non-English speaking families and differentiated learning experiences for extension and intervention, are typical in all classes. Weekly specialist lessons enhance our curriculum and provide students with enriched experiences in:

• Music/Drama
• AUSLAN
• Physical Education
• Art
• ICT

These rich learning experiences across cultural, community, spiritual and academic pursuits cultivate a spirit of enquiry and build self-esteem, compassion and integrity in our students. They also enable a smooth transmission from Year 6 to the secondary years.
