Expression of Interest - Relief Teachers (Primary, & Secondary)
Eastside Lutheran College is inviting expressions of interest from experienced and aspiring relief teachers from a range of teaching areas across both primary and secondary settings. Educators with experience across the arts, STEM, humanities or student support are encouraged to apply, particularly those who value excellence in teaching, student wellbeing and a relational, values‑based approach to education.

2027 Teacher Opportunities
Eastside Lutheran College is a vibrant Kindergarten to Year 10 learning community located in Warrane, Tasmania. Guided by our Free to Flourish values, we are committed to creating learning environments where students and staff feel safe, valued and empowered to grow. Our collaborative and dedicated staff strive to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our students and within the wider community.
We are seeking two enthusiastic and passionate teachers to join our team from 27 January 2027, each on a 12-month maximum-term, full-time (1.0 FTE) basis. These opportunities include:
- One position based in the Primary School
- One position based in Secondary School. The successful applicant will be comfortable teaching English, Humanities and Maths across grade 7 - 10.

The successful applicants will demonstrate a passion for supporting student growth, encouraging curiosity and helping young people develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to flourish both within and beyond the classroom.
About the Role
As a Teacher at Eastside Lutheran College, you will play a key role in creating engaging and inclusive learning experiences that support the academic, social and emotional growth of students. Working as part of a collaborative and supportive team, you will plan, deliver and assess high-quality learning programs that reflect contemporary educational practice and the Australian Curriculum, while contributing to the pastoral care and wellbeing of students.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, deliver and assess engaging learning programs that meet the diverse needs of students.
- Create positive, safe and inclusive learning environments that support student wellbeing and achievement.
- Monitor, assess and report on student progress in accordance with College frameworks.
- Build positive partnerships with students, families and colleagues.
- Contribute to the pastoral care, wellbeing and holistic development of students.
- Engage in ongoing professional learning and reflective practice.
About You
You will bring a passion for teaching and learning, a commitment to student wellbeing, and a desire to contribute positively to our College community.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Registration with the Tasmanian Teachers Registration Board, or the ability to obtain registration prior to commencement.
- A current Tasmanian Working with Vulnerable People Registration (Employee).
- Strong curriculum and pedagogical knowledge relevant to the position sought.
- A willingness to actively support and model the values and ethos of a Christian Lutheran school.
- Excellent communication, collaboration and relationship-building skills.
